American College of Health and Technology will offer students the ability to complete high school on its campus while earning college credit toward nursing or technology degrees.

American College of Health and Technology (ACHT) today announced that it has partnered with Smart Horizons Career Online Education (SHCOE) and ed2go in offering Career Online High School (COHS). ACHT will offer its students a dual-enrollment option that enables them to take college-level courses while earning their high school diplomas. Students will complete the COHS courses in a supervised learning lab located on ACHT’s Davie, Florida campus.

“The learning lab environment on a college campus helps motivate students to accomplish their goal of earning a high school diploma,” said Yvonne Silva, President of ACHT. “It also allows us to show prospective students what we have to offer at our school, paving the way for their post-secondary studies. Our dual enrollment option provides an added incentive for students to achieve their education and career goals.”

ACHT offers Associate of Science degrees in Accounting Technology, Health Information Technology, and Marketing Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for RNs.

Offering an accredited high school diploma and credentialed career certificate in a single comprehensive online program, COHS was established through a partnership between SHCOEand ed2go in 2012. SHCOE is the world’s first AdvancED/SACS accredited private online school district. ed2go is a leading provider of turnkey online training and part of Cengage Learning. The ongoing mission of these two leaders in the education industry is to provide affordable, career-based online education opportunities for the millions of adults in the United States without high school diplomas.

“The fact that COHS is an accredited program and that the classes are available online made COHS very attractive to us,” Silva said. “We’re very excited about this new relationship with SHCOE and ed2go. This will be a very successful partnership for all of us.”

“ACHT is the most recent in a series of quality post-secondary institutions to offer COHS as an option to prospective students who lack a high school diploma,” said Dr. Howard Liebman, CEO and Superintendent of SHCOE. “I’m particularly impressed with their dual enrollment option, which I believe will encourage many adult learners to reenter the education process.”
