Employees Gain Access to Accredited High School Diploma Program

Kroger, America’s largest grocery retailer, has partnered with Career Online High School to provide online education for Kroger’s nearly half a million employees. The program is offered through Kroger’s education assistance program, Feed Your Future, and will be rolled out initially to their Fred Meyer and KingSoopers brands, as well as eight Kroger divisions across the U.S.

Kroger employees with at least six months of service can now access Career Online High School, an accredited high school diploma program, as well as certified Pharmacy Technician courses through ed2go, a Cengage company. Associates who successfully complete the pharmacy courses will be eligible for new opportunities, including paid internships and promotions.

“We are thrilled to partner with Kroger to help re-engage their employees into the educational system,” said Dr. Howard Liebman, District Superintendent of Schools for Career Online High School. “Data also continues to indicate the strong educational return on investment (EROI) for corporations as related to employee retention and upskilling. This is a win-win for both Kroger and their employees.”

Kroger joins other leading organizations, including McDonald’s, Hilton, Goodwill Industries, Checker’s & Rally’s, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, and First Watch, in partnering with Career Online High School to offer education and upskilling opportunities to employees.
