Alliance will build equity and access by upskilling the 36M+ American adults who never completed high school

Smart Horizons Career Online Education is excited to announce that they have joined the Alliance for Adult Education (AAE). AAE was created in February 2023 to unite public and industry leaders to expand career and education pathways for the 36 million adults who lack a high school diploma.

Without having graduated high school, many people are unable to pursue further education, get better jobs, or fully participate in society. AAE’s purpose is to maximize the untapped potential of these adults, advocating for access to funding and support for education and training opportunities.

“Over the past decade, SHCOE has built partnerships with corporations, public libraries, workforce boards, and other organizations to deliver high school completion programs to adults,” said Dr. Howard Liebman, SHCOE’s District Superintendent and AAE’s Executive Director. “We now need the federal government to lean in and help with this critical effort.”
